Sponsorship and Exhibition sales Manager West End, England

Reference: SSEM/FRB Type: Permanent Start: ASAP Industry: Sales

Salary: £25000 - £35000 per annum + 15 - 20K in Comms

The Company

My client have spent the last 4 years delivering content-led, focused conferences. With an international footprint and established client base, they are now embarking on an aggressive growth strategy that will see the evolution of our most successful events and the chance to win business from a whole new sector of the market.

In 2014 they will deliver 3 large events in Europe, Asia and North America under their new brand and 3 others.

The Role

With a focus on new business, the sponsorship & exhibition manager will be tasked with winning business in new supplier categories that have the potential to be developed across Europe, Asia and North America. There will also be existing clients handed over for development and up-selling.

Utilising our research and Advisory Boards, the individual will contact prospects at C-level, be responsible for building credibility, uncovering major challenges and positioning the events as a key part of the corporate strategy to achieve objectives. A consultative approach is preferred to a product pusher but also the ability to ask for the deal and close the deal is essential.

There will also be the chance to join the team selling the large scale oil & gas event in the Middle East. This is a combination of sponsorship and exhibition sales so the ability to adopt a flexible approach is important

The role will suit someone who is looking for real ownership of a portfolio, who wants to work alongside the sales director in developing the next generation of accounts and takes a mature approach to their work.

There will be an element of international travel for both business trips and events so time management is essential to maximise opportunities and close business to tight deadlines.

The role will suit someone who is:

*High energy & high impact
*Ready to take responsibility and deliver
*Wants to take calculated risks and get the reward
*Looking to be supported NOT micro-manged
*Confident but not arrogant

We are looking for a proven track-record of success, high emotional intelligence and a genuine hunger to make money. We are a small team so there are no hiding places, we want someone "who walks the walk, not talks the talk". We are prepared to place a lot of responsibility and autonomy with our new recruit, in return we ask that you manage up, are focused and buy-in to what we are doing.
