Meetings and Events Sales ManagerWest End, England

Salary: £33000 - £35000 per annum


Key Purpose of Role:

To assist the Head of Sales with the management of Meetings & Events sales and assist with the creation and execution of the annual Meetings & Events Sales Plan.

To implement key sales strategies to drive business growth. Responsible for proactively promoting the venue as a major Meetings & Events (M&E) venue by liaising regularly with existing and potential clients and agencies. Focus on financial delivery and quality standards.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities:

To have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the MCC's M&E offering (including costs and capacities) in order to advise clients of all options available relevant to their particular requirements in all venues.
To directly manage the M&E Sales Executive
To grow, develop and lead the Event Sales Team on a daily basis; specifically the Sales Executive
Gain an in-depth knowledge of competitor venues and take part in M& exhibitions and promotional events as required
To ensure the financial conversion of all proactive and reactive sales activities
To liaise with the Marketing Department and external (?) PR company to coordinate relevant strategic activities
To create and implement sales initiatives in order to deliver the sales budget and grow the business, in line with policy
To work with the Sales Executive to contact and meet with prospective clients with a view to generating new event enquiries
Key account management: Responsible for maintaining and increasing revenue from allocated client/agency accounts
To target and direct potential areas of business growth and seek new business opportunities
To create and present the weekly revenue figures
To manage, process and ensure all enquiries are promptly responded to, and a bespoke proposal is created and recorded, accordingly in the KX system
To accurately record all enquiries and bookings in the KX system
To meet with prospective clients and show them the facilities with a view of promoting the venue above any other venue.

Person Specifications, Skills & Qualifications:


Proven track record in Sales in the M&E industry
Passionate about working in the Events industry with the ability to achieve and maintain an exceptional level of service at all times
An understanding of the importance of customer service/satisfaction
Tact, discretion and the ability to work efficiently/calmly under pressure
Ability to create and develop relationships with all levels of team, eg: Commercial Department, Catering team, the wider MCC team, clients and agencies
High level of initiative with administrative, organisational and especially innovative ability
High standard of personal presentation
Flexibility in working hours.

Key Skills:

Strong decision making and negotiation techniques.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to represent the M&E department to a wide range of people and organisations.
IT literate, including Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint

To have worked at a unique venue with 4/5* standards.
Proven management experience with experience in a similar role.
