Job - Summary of the Role, Key Duties & Responsibilities:
We are looking for an Audience Development Manager to join our growing team. The Audience Development Manager is a new role and the successful candidate will be responsible for delegate sales and new business development, identifying and building relationships with potential clients across our Conference portfolio of 22+ events.
The successful candidate must thrive in a fast-paced environment, work well under pressure and must be experienced in juggling multiple tasks/projects/events at one time. This role is customer focused and a large part of the role involves finding and building new customer relationships so the successful candidate must be enthusiastic, energetic, have experience in building new business and have experience of building strong rapport with new clients.
Responsibilities include:
* Taking ownership of the delegate sales process, including building and managing a pipeline and reporting on all activities
* Conducting relevant market research and analysis in order to identify new target audiences, building and cleansing a database of contacts in the process
* Engaging with repeat clients to identify opportunities for cross-selling and negotiating multi-event packages
* Building strong customer relationships by face-to-face meetings, business trips, attending our events and by telephone
* Working closely with sponsors to construct wish-lists of attendees and securing their attendance
* Generating delegate sales revenue in line with agreed targets & objectives
* Working with the marketing team to coordinate and manage VIP programmes for selected events
* Ensuring the correct audience mix is achieved

* Experience in B2B conference delegate sales
* High motivation levels and drive to exceed targets
* Excellent communication skills and telephone manner
* A strong sense of customer service and client management
* Ability to communicate our unique value proposition and the USPs of our events to all audiences
* Highly effective at managing a number of projects at the same time
* Experience of researching and building a database of new contacts
