Salary: £60000 - £70000 per annum + OTE £120k plus Benefits

The Commercial Director will be responsible for the overall Sponsorship and Exhibition revenue generation for the business. They will manage and motivate the business development team and a revenue expectation in excess of US$8.5m. They will also strategically plan and tactically deliver, with their team a progressive and innovative sales plan that incorporates all communications methods including telephone and face to face.

Lead by the CEO the commercial Director will sit on the executive management team with the heads of the other departments and work with this group to deliver profitable and excellent events for our customers. You will report into the CEO.

Primary responsibilities include:

*Devising and implementing the sponsorship and exhibition sales strategy
*Setting revenue targets and key performance indicators
*Meeting with the business development team on a regular basis to assess performance against KPI's
*Presenting sales results to the management team regularly
*Implementing sales strategies across the company and monitoring effectiveness
*Keeping a close eye on the sales activities of competitors and utilising their ideas where appropriate
*Overseeing performance management of under-performing business development staff
*Undertaking appropriate techniques to secure large bellwether accounts and other customers
*Implementing a variety of new business initiatives to drive sales
*Ensuring the organisation has an effective sales training programme
*Working with members of the management team on budgeting and planning
*Negotiating agreements for contracts with customers and ensuring commerciality
*Implementing an effective sales pipeline and lead tracking process
*Ensuring the CRM is being used effectively and provides a competitive advantage
*Implementing best practice in sales techniques throughout the business development team

Desired Skills & Experience

The Commercial Director is responsible for directing all sponsorship and exhibition sales activities within the Company and ensuring the sales grow year on year. You should enjoy travel, research, meeting people and be very tenacious and confident, therefore you should have:

*3-5 years previous experience working in a similar role ideally for a similar organisation
*Natural leader with an ability to inspire performance from sales teams
*Strong commercial outlook and an entrepreneurial approach to business development
*Formal sales training would be an advantage
*Proven track record of achieving sales growth and delivery of results to target and business plan
