Event Agency Account Manager/Director / Event Communication London, England

Salary: £30000 - £60000 per annum + Benefits


*Manage the overall proposal/pitch process along with the detail and intricacies of a brief for a new or repeat piece of business - and to manage the necessary research, creativity input, brainstorms, client or potential client liaison to ensure conversion

*Draft and write proposals to an excellent standard

*Communicate superbly at all levels internally and externally

*Possess excellent negotiation and strategic skills

*Proactively maintain awareness of sector trends and the events industry ensuring that senior colleagues are regularly made aware of your findings via clear and accurate reports

*Support the sales of new business as required

*Lead and motivate staff reporting to you in line with agency objectives, culture and vision

*Demonstrate high levels of creativity and continually show how your ideas may be applied to projects and briefs


You will hold a valid passport.

This role will involve extensive travel - sometimes over weekends/evenings. We expect you to work the hours necessary to discharge your role effectively and our expectation is subject only to any current statutory limitations. We already reflect this expectation in your remuneration package and therefore you will not qualify for extra payment or paid time off in lieu when working additional hours.


*Fully understand each of the agency's services including those of Conference Resource and Praxis - and to be able to instruct and advise colleagues, potential clients and current clients in these areas

*Fully understand - and be able to speak fluently about - the agency's history and the kind of projects that have been delivered - and for what purpose and for which clients

*Fully understand client - and potential client - strategies, brands and product ranges in order to confidently explain and discuss the same

*Be commercial

*Fully understand all the component parts of delivering an event and an exhibition

*Network across allocated accounts to ensure opportunities and resources are always maximised

*Achieve agreed annual targets (reviewed quarterly) against net profitability for each project and each account for which you are accountable

*Grow each account for which you have accountability year-on-year to achieve agreed targets

*Prepare and agree detailed annual account plans with monthly updates and formal reviews

*Lead and develop new business proposals and pitches as required and to take responsibility for managing each component part including financial, logistical, creative, production and operational

*Provide strong leadership and mentoring skills to your direct reports

*Be accountable for budget development, resourcing, management, reconciliation and profit and loss for all projects/accounts under your management

*Remain up-to-date on - and share knowledge of - event industry activity, technology and methodologies

*Represent Agency at client meetings, industry events, other client agency meetings and third party opportunities in general, as required

*Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders at all levels relevant to your accounts to strengthen relationships and manage expectations where required - and to update senior Visual Response management

*Undertake such training and development which may be required of you

*Be responsible to the agency for MSA accuracy, updates and management

*Carry out any other duties commensurate with the nature of the post
